Rosacea may be a common skin condition, but that doesn’t mean you need to live with it forever. Our medispa has all of the latest non surgical treatments available to reduce redness, including IPL, Nd:YAG and chemical peels.
What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a skin disorder characterised by redness in the face, particularly around the nose, cheeks, chin and between the brows. The condition can also result in broken blood vessels and the appearance of spots and bumps on the skin, similar to acne. Rosacea typically affects those who blush easily or have light coloured skin.
Rosacea is a rather common skin concern, affecting approximately one in 20 people. Symptoms usually come and go, and the severity of the condition can change over time. When a person with rosacea has a flare up, they may experience symptoms such as:Blushing and flushing
- More sensitive skin
- Visible small red blood vessels
- Small red spots and bumps
- Dry, itchy, red or burning eyes
- Stinging or burning sensation on the face
- Red or swollen nose
What causes rosacea?
There are a number of factors that could influence the occurrence of rosacea. These may include your genetic history, immune system, skin type, blood vessels and environment. Additionally, rosacea is more common in those with fair skin and people aged between 30 and 60.
Rosacea typically flares up when something triggers the blood vessels in the face to expand, resulting in flushed redness and broken capillaries. Some of these triggers may include stress, exercise, hot weather, spicy food, sun and wind exposure, hot baths, poor diet, alcohol and menopause.
Rosacea can exist in a number of different forms and the effects of the condition vary from person to person. Depending on your individual symptoms and type of rosacea, we can alleviate the effects of rosacea using a number of medical grade technologies. Here at Dr Anh’s Medispa, we offer a number of treatments to reduce rosacea, including:
IPL for rosacea
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a highly effective treatment for rosacea. Using controlled light in specific wavelengths, IPL treatments can be used to alleviate the inflammation, redness, pimples and uneven skin caused by rosacea. IPL provides a gradual and natural improvement to the skin’s appearance and is a gentle, long lasting solution to those struggling with the condition.
Nd:YAG for rosacea
Laser treatments work to improve the symptoms of rosacea by targeting and destroying the abnormal blood vessels causing the condition. In particular, the Nd:YAG laser is a deep-penetrating laser designed for treating deeper blood vessels with larger diameters. This makes Nd:YAG the ideal laser for treating rosacea and continued treatments will result in an overall improved appearance of the skin.
Chemical peels for rosacea
Depending on the severity of your rosacea symptoms, chemical peels are another treatment option that may offer some relief. Chemical peels work to exfoliate away the topmost layer of dead skin cells using a special cosmetic chemical solution. In the case of rosacea, a low concentration of these chemicals are ideal to improve the condition of the skin and create a glowing complexion.
Gold facial for rosacea
The 24k Gold Facial, as offered in Dr Anh’s practice, is packed with antioxidants and minerals to help brighten and calm the appearance of the skin. The gold foil works to promote skin renewal, increase skin hydration and reduce skin redness with its anti-inflammatory properties.
Depending on the severity of your rosacea, not all of these treatments may be right for you. By booking a consultation with Dr Anh, we can identify and develop a personalised treatment plan to best suit your skin’s needs.
