In a recent article written by the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), Dr Anh expresses that plastic surgeons are not solely responsible for body shaming issues. This article was written in response to the media frenzy about the issue of Specialist Plastic Surgeons’ social media being responsible for body image anxiety. In the […]
Often referred to as body contouring surgery, a body lift involves removing fat and in many cases skin from multiple parts of the body for a comprehensive image transformation. Dr Anh performs this procedure on individuals who are close to their goal body, although might need some surgical assistance shifting a final amount of fat and loose skin.
Common areas of treatment include the hips, outer thighs, abdomen (tummy) and buttocks.
These are areas of the body which many women find it difficult to move weight. Men also find the tummy area particularly difficult to slim down, especially later in life. Dr Anh’s body lift surgery performed at her Perth location can help you achieve your body goals by addressing these concerns if treatment is suitable for you.
After Weight loss
If you have lost a dramatic amount of weight a body lift can also be performed to remove excess skin. Excess skin occurs when a large amount of weight is lost in a short period of time such as pregnancy or extreme weight loss. You may also have looser skin due to age. Dr Anh can assist regardless of the cause of excess skin and she will discuss your reason for desiring a body lift during your 45 minute consultation. During this time she will also speak with you about the potential implications of the procedure and the way in which she and her team will reduce complications.
Brachioplasty (arm reduction/lift) for shapely arms
This is a procedure to remove excess redundant skin from the arms – sometimes referred to as “tuckshop arms” or “bat wings”.
Thigh plasty (thigh/reduction/lift) for contoured thighs
This procedure removes excess skin and fat from the inner or outer thighs or both and can lift and contour sagging tissues of the thigh.
You will be placed under a general anaesthetic for this procedure due to the number of treated areas. Essentially, depending on what you want to achieve and the areas you want to treat, you will be combining a number of individual treatments. For example, some patients will wish to combine liposuction of the buttocks with a tummy tuck procedure for an overall body lift. The basic phases for each of these procedures involves using surgical fat removal technology to remove unwanted fat, then excising any extra skin. The area of incision will then be sutured by Dr Anh and dressed.
Dr Anh will discuss all aftercare requirements with you prior to your procedure. For most body lift patients you will be required to stay locally or overnight at our Perth surgery.
