A chemical peel can be used on the face or body to even out the texture of your skin and improve your overall complexion and skin quality. This treatment will be performed at Dr Anh’s Perth cosmetic clinic using a special cosmetic chemical solution. The solution will be applied to the skin and over the duration of your appointment and a little while afterwards your most outer layer of skin will begin to peel off. This procedure is similar to microdermabrasion except that instead of an abrasion tool a chemical solution will do the work of removing your outer layer of skin, exposing the fresh new skin beneath.
Wrinkle reduction with chemical peels
Chemical peels can remove skin that becomes lined with fine creases. This is where the skin appears crépe-like and wrinkled due to lack of hydration and ageing. Chemical peels can remove the outer layer of skin which is where a lot of fine lines affect your appearance. By removing this section of skin you are essentially removing part of the skin that shows the wrinkle, thus reducing the wrinkle itself. There are some types of chemical peels which are deeper than others which will have different effects in terms of how young you look due to the amount of skin that peels away.
The effect of your peel will depend on the type of peel used
There are many different levels of peels that will depend on the results you want to achieve and the condition of your skin at the time of treatment. Dr Anh or one of her cosmetic team members will take you through this before you begin your peel and recommend the best solution to your problems.
Will a chemical peel hurt?
Some people feel very little discomfort during their chemical peel. You can rest assured that you will be provided with the proper treatments designed to minimise pain and redness which can occur. These are often cooling creams and serums which your cosmetic clinician will recommend to you when necessary. All aftercare instructions will be provided to you at the time of your consultation, and you peel can be performed during the same appointment.
