You are not alone. Having a child is a gift and brings so much joy but they can also “suck the life out of our breasts”.
So many mums if given a wish list for their body, will commonly express a desire to have perkier, lifted, fuller breasts and a flatter, tighter tummy amongst and other body contouring procedures. I believe that women seek mummy makeovers, not for vanity but to restore some of the body confidence that has been lost when our bodies changed with pregnancy/childbirth/lactation
If you want the breasts in a more lifted position with better shape, then you may need a breast lift where the breast gland is reshaped, the breast gland and nipple are repositioned, and the areola may also be reduced in size. If you also want more volume, you may need a lift and implants.
If you just want to go bigger but avoid a breast lift for fear of the scars of a breast lift, it may not be recommended if you have breasts that have a moderate degree of breast ptosis (), the only way to do that is with implants. Any type of incision for a breast lift will leave a scar, but there are ways now that are minimal scarring and give a pleasing, perky result. The vertical or Le Jour technique can now be used on a wide range of sizes using an incision that looks like a lollipop that goes around the areola and down the lower half of the breast.
When women with saggy breasts want to go bigger, I usually advise doing a breast lift along with the implants. Otherwise, the implants create what we call a “double bubble,” where the breast droops off the end of the implant like a sock. Some of my patients, however, don’t want a lift because they want to avoid additional scarring, so sometimes implants alone can fill out the skin and eliminate the saggy appearance.
