It has taken a long time to get to where I am today. Now, I want to inspire other women to reach their own dreams and make my mark on this world.
Last Friday, I was privileged to win the Ausmumpreneur People’s Choice Award for Making a Difference in Business. This came at a genuine surprise as I have previously believed that there is a misconception about plastic surgery and how it is vain and not important. I would never imagine that a business revolving around transforming patients’ lives through plastic surgery and aesthetic treatments would receive so much love and support.
Winning this award is validation that what we do makes a powerful difference to so many lives. It is a testament to the amazing team. I am proud to lead, my inspirational patients who trust me to be a part of their lives and my incredible husband and 3 children who selflessly support me in pursuit of my purpose and passion. I couldn’t do this without everyone believing in me and I am overwhelmed by all the love and support I have received, not only for the Ausmumpreneur awards, but throughout my personal and professional growth and development. I look at my business, can cannot believe how much it has grown in the last four years. From what started as a vision, it has transformed into two clinics, one, in Perth City, the other, at Crown Perth. Over this time, we have been presented with multiple industry and business awards, as well as loyal patients and clients, and a strong supporter base.
I was so thrilled to accept the award in front my 11-year-old daughter, my parents, patients and staff and friends. I believe this is one of the reasons why the Ausmumpreneur award meant so much to me. It was the first time I was recognised as a Mum who has excelled in business. It is wonderful to be acknowledged for the sacrifices we make and the struggles we face as mums. However, both the responsibilities of parenting and the dedication to running a business are indeed worth it!
From humble beginnings as a refugee…
I came to Australia as a baby, with just the clothes on my back and my non-English speaking parents, to establishing a world-class, luxurious, multi award-winning Medispa empire. I feel incredibly grateful for every opportunity and challenge that has shaped me into who I am today.
I am an Australian mum of 3, plastic surgeon, entrepreneur, philanthropist and role model for so many women (and men) in medicine and surgery, business and those on their journey to finding their best selves.
I hope my story can inspire, empower and influence so many to believe that the unimaginable is possible through hard work, determination and courage.
Being the best version of yourself
As part of my own transformation journey to become the best version of myself, to discover my own self-worth, I have found my passion and purpose to inspire and motivate women (and men) to be the best versions of themselves – physically, emotionally and mentally. It is OK to want to feel beautiful and live in your best body. As women, we should celebrate what makes us happy and lift other women up; giving them confidence to live their biggest dream. No one should be held back by fear of failure or insecurity about their age, gender or appearance. It is so important that we continue to challenge the perception of plastic surgery as it is so much more transformative than that!
Paying it forward
I am incredibly grateful for the amazing life-changing opportunities that Australia has provided me to get to the top of my field and I feel a strong obligation to give back and pay it forward. I do this daily through conducting surgery in the public health system for those that could not afford this or those with significant trauma or cancer where advanced reconstructive surgery is required. I have an advisory board position at Breast Cancer Care WA and sponsor or support the following charities:
- The Magic of Mothers
- Women of Substance
- Ronald McDonald House
- Variety Club
- WA AIDS Council
Through my empowering women events, I also mentor women who have big dreams of success but are held back by their fears of not being good enough, pretty enough or smart enough. Philanthropy is my way of saying thank you and paying forward for all I am grateful for.
It is my vision to create a generation of leaders who positively influence women to find their self-worth, create their legacy and give back.
I sincerely thank you for your ongoing love and support and belief in my vision. It means so much and I will eternally be grateful.
