Breast Reduction

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to put on any top in your size, and it fits? Have you ever imagined what it would be like to eb able to easily find pretty bras and they fit? Have you ever wanted a day without strain on your neck, shoulders, and back from having large breasts? The reality for many women with large breasts is that they hate their breasts. They do not like how big and saggy they are. They do not like how hard it is to find clothes and bras and swimwear that fits. They cannot run or play sport like they once did because their breasts are so heavy. It is physically challenging to do these simple things. They are often burdened by pain and migraines or headaches. They feel so self-conscious because they often find unwanted attention focused on their chest.

For most women who seek a breast reduction, it is because they have had enough. It has affected them physically, emotionally, mentally, and unless one has walked those shoes or cared for women who feel their large breasts affect their lives, it’s easy to discuss as cosmetic surgery, but this is wrong.

Breast reduction surgery is lifechanging. We not only reduce the size and volume and heaviness of them, but we reshape and reposition them, so they look more perky youthful and considerably better than before. The scars do fade over time. Most scar beautifully so the lines are imperceptible over time. Some require laser to improve appearance of scars. Surgery is under general anaesthetic and takes 3-4 hours on average. Most patients stay overnight. Dressings are kept over the incision lines for up to 6 weeks. The breast tissue removed is sent for examination to exclude any previously under detected pathology. A non-underwire bra is worn for 6 weeks or until the incisions are well healed and nontender. The biggest regret of most patients who have a breast reduction is why they did not do it sooner.
